End of Year Insurance Checklist

As you Review the Year, there are some Things you’ll Want to Share with your Insurance Agent

It has been a rather unusual year for everyone, and as we near the end of 2020 it’s a good time to take inventory, reflect on the past, and make plans for future goals. You might consider your relationships, professional life, health, financial situation, or all of the above. Even though your insurance coverage may not be the focus of your reflections, it is also a good time to take stock of your coverage, you may have gone through changes that make some adjustments necessary.

Take a Look Back

This year did you purchase something you’ve always wanted, like a boat, motorcycle, or an RV? If you’ve added any recreational vehicles to your personal property, you’ll want to talk with your insurance agent to be sure it’s properly covered.

Did your family grow this year? Does it have you thinking about more life insurance? Your insurance agent can get you started, or help you add additional coverage. Or maybe you’ve finally started building that dream home this year. That is both a stressful and exciting time! Know your future home is protected from fire, water, wind, etc, by asking your agent about the right coverage for your new home while it’s under construction.

How Well is Your Business Covered Right Now?

It seems as though Covid-19 has had an affect on every industry of business. It’s impact has changed how most people run their businesses now. Review how business has changed, and where you need more insurance coverage to protect your business, like liability, and OSHA requirements.

Also, as tax season nears, it’s a good time to review your business owner’s policy so you know that you’re meeting all insurance requirements for doing business in your state. Find out if you’re up to date on employee insurance such as worker’s compensation and general liability. Check your policy or speak to an agent to be sure you are properly covered.
